Reuse your translations
You build references while you translate, and memoQ stores them in databases. You can create glossaries with terms, store previous translations, add reference materials, store abbreviations, and identify and automate the translation of certain patterns.
memoQ combines the content of all these databases to offer you relevant information and suggest translations based on these.
Term base
As you translate, you can easily add terms and expressions to your term base both in the source and target languages. If the terms are no longer to be used, you can mark them forbidden. With memoQ’s term base management functionality, you can extract terms from documents and translation memories, import your existing glossaries, combine bilingual glossaries into multilingual ones, or easily add new terminology as you translate.
In memoQ, terminology is automatically detected and checked: you get a warning if you apply the wrong terminology, and you can search and replace terms across multiple documents on the go.
Adding new terms to your term base is very easy, and a large updated database can save you a lot of research and typing. memoQ also makes research easier by providing you simultaneous access to all your favorite internet reference pages with a single click of a button.
With memoQ translator pro, you can work with any company using a memoQ server. Get more jobs by accepting those sent directly from their memoQ server!
memoQ translator pro also supports discussions within the translation environment which are frequent between project managers and customers on topics such as source text and terminology.
If your colleagues also use memoQ, you can create project backups to pick up the project where you left it off. The same way you can synchronize your work between several computers. If your colleagues use other translation tools, you can still export your translation memories, term bases, segmentation rules and other resources for them to use.
